Hello everyone,
Directly coming to the point,
Problem:SQL Server 2005 Express edition installation fails on windows 7 when installing database services.No problems in installation of Management studio.

What i have already done:
i wanted to connect 1 desktop and 1 laptop. Both have windows 7 ultimate.On desktop it installed successfully, but on laptop,after successfully installing management studio, i tried to install SQLSRVR_32
setup, which installs native client, database services.....etc
out of which, database services fail installation.

Questions:
what can be the problem, how can i solve it.
if i install server on desktop, i want client to be installed on laptop. how do i achieve it?please guide me regarding the same.

Could you post the error message from the install log file?

Generally install log files path will be in,

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Files
