I have problem while creating any trigger like with this syntax.

CREATE TRIGGER <Trig_name>
ON ALL SERVER FOR LOGON
AS
.......

Error:

Msg 1084, Level 15, State 1, Procedure Trig_Name, Line 3
'LOGON' is an invalid event type.

Couldn't find where I could venture to find the solution.

Any help please

Are you running at least service pack 2? What does SELECT @@VERSION show?

You aren't running service pack 2, so that's why it isn't available.

Here's the versions: http://www.sqlteam.com/article/sql-server-versions

You are running the RTM version, which means that no service packs or hotfixes are installed. This is very bad, by the way! There are literally thousands of bugs in your version, so you should really consider upgrading to service pack 3 and at least build 4262.

Thanks for that, however, if you look further into the URL posted it gave us enough evidence for what would be the criteria for my long standing question (Which remains question, till otherday) as the Maintenance Plans will differ with the DATES FORMAT with the lower Service packs, and is proved.

I got 1 Shot 2 birds - Thanks
