I know may be an obvious question, but please bear in mind how new I am to this. I have SQL Server 2005 on a File Server locally. I also have an eCommerce website hosted on a 1and1 Server which uses MySQL. I would like to synch the two databases on a daily basis. I have done quite a bit of reading and it seems to me that SSIS is the tool for the job.

My two questions are:
(1) Can it do it across the internet? IE not both local DBs.
(2) Can it synchronize the DBs even though one is SQL Server 2005 and the other one is MySQL 5?
