Hi,

I've been trying to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Developer from my Windows 7 (32) computer. I was able to use Add/Remove Programs from the control panel to uninstall everything except Books Online.

When I go to uninstall Books Online, the installer starts the process and then prompts me for the install CD for the program? Why does the installer need the disk to UNINSTALL the application???

At any rate I cannot get past the prompt and cannot uninstall the Books Online.

PS. I installed SQL Server from a set (2) of ISO images that I downloaded from MSDN when the Developer Version was free. I have those CD's, but no idea what file the installer is looking for.

BTW. Why isn't MS still offering a free "Developer" version of SQL Server? Is the 2008 version of "Express" equivalent?

Developer edition has never been free. It fact, it used to cost much more than it does now. It used to cost 500 bucks, and starting a few years ago it costs 50 bucks. If you didn't pay for a license and you've got Developer Edition, then you've got a pirated copy.

Express is not equivalent to Developer Edition, but at least Express is free. Developer edition is equivalent to Enterprise edition.

I don't have the answer to your question about uninstalling BOL.
