Hello,

We have a database whose log file will grow out of control overnight. I am running a trace in SQL Profiler and am monitoring "Database => Log File Auto Grow".

The trace logged an event where the Application Name is
"SQLAgent - TSQL JobStep (Job 0x5F56C1AA57107444A420BC9B70DE7F29 : Step 3)"

How can I correlate 5F56C1AA57107444A420BC9B70DE7F29 to a SQL job?

I have looked in the msdb tables sysjobs and sysjobsteps but did not find a match.

Thank you!
Terry

I think you'll find it's the rebuild indexes job.

Check for that job in your Agent. When you schedule it via the maintenance plan wizard, it encrypts the name.

Thanks for the quick reply Tara!
That wasn't it. We rebuild indexes only once a week on Sundays.

Thanks,
Terry

Check all of your other jobs that have been created as a result of an SSIS package, including the maintenance plans.

There are only two maintenance plans ... backup databases that run every night at 9:00 pm and the optimizations that run Sundays at 3:00 am.

Thanks,

I do not know of a way to decrypt the name, so I think you are stuck going through every job and every step to see what you've got on that system.
