Hello everyone!!
I have a PDA mobile device and i want to connect to sql server on my computer.Made a remote ad hoc connection on the computer with a reciever, And could not login to the server. It's telling me that login failed for user '<the current user>'. I even made a new named instance with new logins and working no mixed authentication mode.Firewall is down and still have no idea why it's not working

Switch it to mixed-mode authentication and use SQL authentication for this.

That's not what your post says, but okay maybe we've got a communication problem.

Have you verified the default database?

By the way, it's not a network/firewall issue if you are getting error. The error means you are able to contact SQL Server, but SQL Server isn't letting you in due to authentication reasons.

I know it's not a network/firewall issue, that's very strange. And the default database is verified.

It's only a permissions issue if the account you are trying to login with doesn't have access to log into the SQL Server.

Are you using sa account? Does the account you are attempting to use work from the computer where SQL is installed?

In the first the default instance for the server was set. I was trying but nothing.Next i install a new named instance, turn off the default server and started using the new one. In Visual studio I'm able to make new connection with the database locally.I tried with the default user 'sa', even make a new user login but still nothing.

If even the sa account isn't working from the mobile device, then I suspect a bad password is being sent as sa has god permissions on the instance.
