Dear All,This is with SQL server 2000 Enterprise edition As part of the SQL server decommission i have uninstalled the SQL server 2000 from the default and named instances. Now the client don't want to decommission for now and want reverse/restore everything back to its original state on each of these servers URGENTLY. I have taken the cold backup of all the databases including master,MSDB,distmdl, tempdb with other databases. How can we restore the systems databases so that i can bring back the server to normal position. Thanks,Gangadhar |

Sometimes it's easier to re-install SQL and then just restore msdb and the user databases. However, here's how to restore master: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa173515(SQL.80).aspxyou don't restore tempdb by the way |
