I have the understanding that regardless of where a SSIS package is stored, it will run on the same machine as the SQL Server Agent that invokes the package. What would be the reason, then, that a package inserting about 7 million rows would have a different performance result by being run two ways:1. From my local PC, connect to 'primary server' and kick off the scheduled job on the 'primary server' agent.2. Remote desktop into 'primary server' and kick off the same scheduled job on the 'primary server' agent.Scenario #2 runs faster. The package is stored on 'primary server' MSDB.Please advise."Challenge me. I will not give up. I will not succumb to any situation. I will not be afraid to be great." ~ D. M. Abrashoff |
