SQL 2005 does not have built in backup compression. You'll have to buy a 3rd party backup tool that offers compressed backups. Litespeed and RedGate's SQLBackup are two examples.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

Yes, it's available for 2008 (enterprise edition only) but not 2005. If you want it in 2005, you'll need to buy a 3rd party backup tool that offers compressed backups.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

>> suggest the comments...?????Do you have v2008 or v2005?If v2005 do you expect things in v2008 to be available? If so you are going to be very disappointed.Did you read GilaMonster's posts?==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.SSIS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
