Guys,

I need some assistance.

I have been following the script here:

http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=76258

I got the functions successfully run but I am having a difficult time decrypting a password.

For instance, according the script, you can decrypt an encrypted password like this:

select dbo.fnEncDecRc4('myusername','IUHGGG+4DYMFY513W47Izem9s?') from myUsersTable where username='myusername'

When I run this in query analyzer, I get the same encrypted password:
________________________

IUHGGG+4DYMFY513W47Izem9s?

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Drop the single quote, because you want to get the value from the table.

select dbo.fnEncDecRc4(password_column_name_here, 'IUHGGG+4DYMFY513W47Izem9s?') from myUsersTable where username = 'myusername'
