I am getting this error on http://localhost/ReportServer:

Server Error in '/ReportServer' Application.

The process account used to run ASP.NET must have read access to the IIS metabase (e.g. IIS://servername/W3SVC). For information on modifying metabase permissions, please see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904.

and have tried most things to fix it that are on the net.

One article I read mentioned to, in this order:

quote:
1. Delete the ASPNET user account in your computer.
2. Uninstall .NET Framework 2.0
3. Uninstall IIS.
4. Re-install IIS, and then re-install .NET Framework 2.0 (note: the order can't be changed.)

Not sure how to do (1) above and does that have consequences? Add/Remove Programs isn't allowing me to do (2) above stating too many dependencies.

Any ideas?

Resolved this - installed W2K. In this order:

Install IIS
Install .Net 2.0

Reinstall SQL Server if necessary should you get errors on installation in relation to Reporting Services.
