Can someone suggest the names of a few BI tools that would allow access to pivoting tables and views and allow for drilling into any pivot element to see the constituent rows. Something that requires no programming and would be intuitive enough for endusers to manipulate. Price counts. Suggestions?

PowerPivot, SQL Server Analysis Services. It will take programming on your end though.

Lumbago,

Do you think that there would be a place for something like what I described?
Powerful reconfigurable Pivot tables, drill down, free and no programming?
Like, setup and run in 5 minutes.

Two other 3rd-party options, both well-established in the industry:

QlikView. Requires no advanced programming skill, but does require someone who could handle the initial build that users and power users could use to drill down as needed. The tool is wicked slick IMHO.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

I've been using Stonefield Query www.stonefieldquery.com for the past 3 years. The SDK version has all the tools I need to create custom reports, dashboards, charts and graphs, and more. I downloaded the software and was running reports inside of an hour. A great crystal reports alternative.
