Hi All,I have SQL 2005 and I noticed some missing dates from my SQL server log file. Example I am missing dates from 13-21 Jan 2011? Where is it.... and I have all the dates before and after.I check the Win event file - Security and see that there was activity on 19 Jan and I know that they were connecting to SQL but SQL log didn't record it. Any help....Thanks a lot, |

It is system SQL log, where you can see and trace events like login, failed login etc..., not the DB log file.quote: Originally posted by Michael Valentine Jones Do you know what a SQL server log file is?It sounds like you are talking about something completely different.CODO ERGO SUM

They are inside the individual files.... not like the whole set is missing... only thing is that I noticed is one message before the missing log..The SQL Netweork Interface library could not deregister the SPN for the SQL server......thanks Tara for your help...quote: Originally posted by tkizer Are they missing inside the individual files, or are you expecting new files for each day?Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog
