Can anyone explain how to upgrade SSIS 2005 package to 2008 SSIS in detail?

Open them in Business Intelligence Development Studio 2008. They'll be auto-updated.

Have you installed SQL 2008 (at least the client tools)? If so, you'll find it in the SQL 2008 start menu folder.

i installed it..but i dont see a separate BIDS for 2008 like 2005? Where can i find it for 2008?

Then you may not have installed BIDS. If you do, it's in the menu, under SQL 2008, just like the 2005 one is under SQL 2005.

i am Sure i did installed...but its not under SQL Server 2008 like 2005.What might have caused this? Any ideas?

Did you check both of the management tools boxes during install?

The only reasons it won't be there are
1) It was not installed
2) It was installed and the menu item was later removed.
