| 1. Which such be learned first (SQL Server Administration or SQL database development)?2. What are the differences between SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008R2? I have noticed the difference in titles on many beginner books. 3. What does R2 stand for?Thanks for your time. |

| 1. Depends which you're interested in. Most people will be mainly on the dev side or mainly on the admin side, not both.2. R2 is a separate version of SQL, most of the new features are BI related3. Release 2 (I think)--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
