| Dear All,This is my first server in the production to have the patch with SP3.What are all the steps which i need to do for the patching from SP2 to SP3 on the production environments ?If you pls mention do's and Don't will be highly helpful as this is the production environment.Thanks,GangadharThanks,Gangadhara MSSQL Developer and DBA |

- Do make sure you have valid backups before applying Service Pack
- Do make sure you have a maintenance window. I tell users 3 hours, but it won't take nearly that long
- Do apply to a dev/test server first, both so you know it doesn't break anything and so you have already done it before applying to prod server
- Do have a rollback plan just in case
All in all, it's usually pretty painless. |

SP3 patching on PRODCUTION SERVER
