| I thought I was. My sister and I played for years and mostly drank for free. The last time I shot, three women had come into the bar and put their money on the table. I assumed it was for them to play but one of them said "No, I want to shoot against you (me)". Never one to back down I agreed, she let me break. I sank two balls and I swear she ran the table on me. Bought her a drink, bowed politely to her superiority and slinked my sorry a$$ back to my table. Humbling, to say the least. Not because she was female but because she truly kicked my butt!Terry-- You can't be late until you show up. |

| I've been playing in a pool league since 2004. Before I had my son, I was on 5 teams in a couple of sessions and played 4 times per week.Due to my kids, I'm only playing on one team per session and only sometimes actually show up (my husband is the captain, so it's easy to get the day off).I play in the APA, and specifically in the San Diego APA league. http://www.poolplayers.com/I am a skill level 5 in both formats (8 and 9). An average male player that plays in the bars is a skill level 3 or 4. An average female player is a skill level 2 or 3. | Nice. I used to be good. Back b4 I got married, I had a full sized table in my living room, and played in the bars 3 or 4 or 5 times a week.At home I'd play games against myself where every shot had to be a bank shot, or a combo and such silly stuff to practice. I got pretty good.Alas, marriage, kids, and other interests got in the way. I wonder how long it would take me to get good again if I actually started practicing. |

| It always struck me that there are some sports e.g. darts, pool, snooker where there is no obvious reason why women shouldn't be competing at the highest levels.-----------If debugging is the process of removing software bugs, then programming must be the process of putting them in. |
