rs.Open "SELECT * FROM BorrowRecord WHERE Date >= ReturnDate", cn

.. I aLways get a 3001 Run Time Error..

.. can someone pLease answer me..

Are you able to run the select command from a SSMS window?
If you are, check the properties of the ADO Recordset object. This might help: http://www.w3schools.com/ado/met_rs_open.asp
