Hi,

Could anyone tell me the best way/optimized way to synchup some of the tables from production to development environment in SQL Server 2005 on a daily basis, which will be scheduled as a job.

One way is to create link server and populate the data.
Creating a link server is ruled out in my case, so what other ways where we can synch up the data (truncate and load). Even, If I do with SSIS Jobs there are multiple tables to be synchup and the performance will be a hit.

Your thought is highly appreciated.

Can you just overwrite dev with a copy of the prod database? If so, backup/restore is easiest.

Here's how to auto-restore to dev: http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/archive/2009/02/25/How-to-refresh-a-SQL-Server-database-automatically.aspx
