| Log shipping works with all versions of SQL Server from 2005 onward. Express editions do not have the SQL Agent component enabled, which is required for scheduling.Log shipping failover is a manual process. The details are listed in Books Online, and also includes the failback process. Keep in mind that while you can fail over from 2005 to 2008, you cannot fail back to 2005 once the database or log has been backed up under 2008. |

| Books Online: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms130214.aspxThere's also a copy installed with SQL Server, under the Start Menu program group for SQL Server.I don't know what you mean by "no recovery mode". Regarding the failover procedure, as I said earlier it's detailed in Books Online. |
