Hi,

I have been a front end developer so far and not so much in the back end. I know how to write simple stored procs and simple t-sqls but not upto the level I always wanted to learn t-sql.
I wish I could be in a position to come up with t-sql on how to get the data in a given scenarion right then but I am always lagged behind on how to go abot it and my mind simply doesn't work.

Is there any book that you guys could recommend that helps me get upto the speed. Or any online free t-sql practice guide using the sample databases.

Thanks,
L

Two websites I recommend are:

http://sqlzoo.net/
http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp

Both sites cover the various keywords in SQL with examples, etc. On SQLZoo, the site allows you to modify sql statements on the page and to see what the result would look like with the changes. The w3schools site goes over the SQL in a similar way, and also has [under SQL Demo --> SQL Try It] a form for trying out SQL statements and seeing what the result is [against a table they've provided].

I hope this helps.
