| Hi, I have a database stored in SQL server 2005, the application used to run fine as upto Monday.. Now, the application takes a considerable time to open a form and in most cases it times out. (Note: No changes made to the application or database)It was also noted that if there are more than 3 users on the system simultenously then the application times out no matter how many times you try. I tried to copy the database to another server which has SQL server 2005 and it worked fine. What could be the cause of the problem? Thanks |

| Have a look at the activity on the server. If all the access is via stored procedures then it's easy to record and diagnose the issues.Otherwise do you log database interaction from the client? You need to find out is whether it is the database response or the connectivity that is the issue.CHeck for blocking or long running queries by looking at sysprocesses to start with==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.SSIS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
