Cannot connect to SARITHA\SQLEXPRESS.

What it says - can't find SARITHA\SQLEXPRESS.
Is it started? Is that the correct name? Does it allow remote connections (if it's a remote server).

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.
Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy.

I opened the SQL Server Management Studio Express,and then the Connect to server window appears,there i press Connect button,but then an Error message (that i mentioned earlier)comes.

yeah,the Servername typed is correct.

Is the instance started? Check the services.

but this morning also it worked without seperate service start.please tell me how to start sql service in windows xp
