Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I've tried several installs because none have worked correctly.

I have a successful installation on my XP (32 bit) laptop, with 7 or 8 databases installed and working.

Should I use SQLEXPR.EXE or SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.EXE?

What setting should I use - Windows Authentication?

Should SQLServer2005_SSMSEE_x64.msi be installed first or last?

The installs that didn't work either wouldn't let me create a database, or else the Management module wouldn't connect to the database.

Thanks for your help.

You should install the 64-bit version of SQL Server if you have a 64-bit machine. When to install the SSMS client tool doesn't matter.

We'll need errors in order to help you further.
