folks I have a Windows 2008 R2 box with the default instance as SERVER1, it is SQL 2008 R2. I also installed a named instance SERVER1\XYZ which is SQL 2005 SP3.Here's the scenario. All services have started.I am able to connect to the SQL 2008 Instance with SQL and Trusted Logins from anywhere.I am able to connect to the SQL 2005 Instance with SQL Login from anywhere. But with Trusted login, I am able to login only locally but NOT remotely(example my work station).Needless to say they are all in the same domain. This is the text of the message: "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)"RegardsParesh MotiwalaBoston, USA |
