| Hi, I need your opinion on annual salary for a position at a blue chip company in Santa Clara, CA. I would like to know what the annual salary would/could/should be for a SQL Server developer with 8 to 9 years of experience.Thanks. |

| It would depend a lot on the company and the benefits being offered, but I would guess for an average developer it would be around 75-80k. As far as minimum, it can go very low. I've seen salary offerings of like 40-50k at universities where they have very little money. They can't get good candidates at those levels, so I would assume only junior people apply for those even though the titles are higher than that. You may want to get in contact with a local recruiter for some help on this stuff. They'd have a better idea of what the ranges should be in your area. You could also look around on dice for those listings that actually show the possible salary ranges for the position to get an idea of it.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |
