I am using old version of the sql server 2000 where there is a limit of 2gb on size (includes all db put together)

I have around 11 tables and my queries uses 5-6 tables joins to get the result sets.
Is it possible to have each table in a saperate instance of sql server and then join them to get the results?

you can do that. but for fetching tables you need to use linked servers.

you need to create linked server of all those instance to the server from which you are going to Query. after creating linked server you can query the tables and use them in join.
