i have created a table
create table A(b varchar(10))

after using command
sp_spaceused A

result is

name rows reserved data index_size unused
A 0 0KB 0KB 0KB 0KB

then i inserted a row
insert into A values('abc')

now again using command
sp_spaceused A

result is

name rows reserved data index_size unused
A 1 16KB 8KB 8KB 0KB

So,My question is why index_size is 8KB when i did not created any index.

Because there is always at least one IAM (Index Allocation Map) page. It's an allocation page that says where the pages comprising the index or heap are.
