| Hi AllI have a small access database application that uses SQL Express Server 2008 and I have that running on few laptops for folks working in the field aka with no internet or networking connection. I want to be able to "replicate" there data all together on our SQL 2008 Server back in the office so that field guy 1's new data is "syncd" when he is back in the office also need to be able to update Field guy 1's data with all the data from the other field workers. Can I do this with some sort of sql replication? I have read about transactional and peer to peer and merg and I am not sure which road to go down and where to find good information on how to set that up. Its a small number of records per day usually 3 per field person per day... ThanksCapJLP |

HiThanks for the reply. When I set this up is it easy to add tables to the main database and have them added or changed to the other subscribers?I am still developing this tool so some portions are done. I am just wondering how much of a pain its going to be once I need to add additional tables or fields to existing tables. |

| Adding additional tables shouldn't be a big deal. Making sure you understand conflict resolution is though. |

Well I have been beating my head against the wall all morning with this damn replication... can you tell the frustration has set in.I have my database on my SQL 2008 paid for server... and i setup a publication and a job. Then I went to my laptop installed sql server 2008 "express" and setup a subscription. However it seems you need a sql agent to run the sync and "express" apparently has not sql agent... :(any suggestions? |

I was finally able to get the merge to work. I had to create an external dos program to run the sync process. I'll adapt that into my application.Making changes to table structures is a pain the u know what... once the publication is there... |
