| Hi, I'm aware that a database version cannot be downgraded, a client of ours is migrating the server and there is a need to convert the existing database on 2008 R2 to 2008. I did select 2008 from the scrip version and then tried to restore the database on 2008 but it came up with incompetibility error. Can you please advise what i have done wrong or if you could kindly mail or post the exact process please. Many thanks in advance. Regards,Mustafa |

| There's no syntax difference between SQL 2008 and SQL 2008 R2, so a script for R2 should run just fine on SQL 2008 without any special settings.Without seeing the error there's no way to tell what's wrong.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
