Hello...I am trying to export a SSIS package by logging into Integration Services.I right click on the package and select Export PackageI choose to save the package to file systemthe protection level does not have have option to rely on server storage etc...Question 1: Will I be able to open this package in BIDSQuestion 2: Will this have any affect on the original packageTIA for any suggestion..as I don't want to mess up the original package in production.R/P |

you will be able to open it in BIDS by adding it to project of type Integration services project. But if it has protection level of save sensitive with password/user id and if you dont have password or is not creator of package you will not be able to view sensitive information like sql login password etcIt will not have any effect on original package stored in server as you're getting just a working copy.
