HiI have developed VB application which uses SQL Express. I plan to distribute my project.exe and SQL Express (Redistributalbe) on CD. When We install SQL Express it is by default set to install Service Account = Network Service. But As my application is standalone PC application so I want to create installer which should install SQL Express 2008 (With Service Account = Local System) and along my vb application on the user's computer. Or how can I make Visual Studio ClickOnce Application to use the given configuration to install SQL Express.I read some where to use configuration.ini file, but it need command line instructions. My end user are not much computer friendly. I want to automate install procedure. Thanks

SQL Server install can be 100% silent and when you go through the regular install wizard, at the very last step when the summary shows up and the install is ready to beguin there is a link to a configuration.ini-file right below the summary that has all your configurations in it. Copy this file to a location of your choice and use the filename as a parameter when you're doing a silent install like this -> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx- LumbagoMy blog-> http://thefirstsql.com/2011/07/08/how-to-find-gaps-in-identity-columns-at-the-speed-of-light/

ThanksFor your quick and useful reply. But my problem is How this configuration.ini file can be embeded in .msi installer. Becuase my user can not use command line.

I don't know how you create these .msi-packages but surely there must be a way to send parameters to an installer?? When you create the .msi, how do you specify the way each install is executed?- LumbagoMy blog-> http://thefirstsql.com/2011/07/08/how-to-find-gaps-in-identity-columns-at-the-speed-of-light/
