Sounds like you've got an uncompressed backup, slow network, and perhaps slow disks on server B. You'll need to identify where your bottleneck is. Use PerfMon for help (both server A and server B).

You may find it faster to copy (zipped) the file to server B and then do the restore (unzipped of course).

What version of SQL Server is this for and what edition is it?

If database is in full recovery you can:

Take full backup
Copy file to other server
Restore full backup WITH NORECOVERY (may take some time)

Stop access to original database
Take differential backup
Copy DIFF file to other server
Restore DIFF backup WITH RECOVERY (should not take very long)

which would reduce your "down time" (assuming that that is an issue for you ...)

@Tara,Thanks for the reply! As you said ,our network is very slow and the Disk as well. For now I stopped the restore ,and deleted the partially restored DB on server B.I am performing a full a full backup again on server A.If we compress and copy the file to server B ,and restore locally will it make some difference? Its a 2000 version, both the Servers are 2000.

Thanks in Advance!

@Kristen, Thanks for the reply.I have down time until Monday,I tried to copy the file to Server B but It is taking the same time to copy on the Network.I was actually planning to restore the recent full back up and do a Diffrential today, but It was too slow that I was not able to Restore Full back up...
