Hi

I have done a simple successful backup of the database which resided on a server OS and I am unable to restore it to the same version database residing on Win XP Pro.

Ant explanations or fix?

Thank you
Samuel

Nothing to do with the OS. I do that kind of thing regularly.

The message I get is an exception occurred while executing a transaction-SQL statement.. (Microsoft.SQLServer.ConnectionInfo)
Additinal information:
Read on C:\File name failes: 38(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 1815) Microsoft SQL Server, Error 3203))

Error 38 is 'reached the end of the file'. Implies that the backup file has been truncated (cut off) during transfer Get a new backup, that one's damaged.

Thank you Gail.

Apparently the file was not copied properly in the first instance.

Best regards,
Samuel
