I tried to set up database mail in MSSQL 2008 Enterprise. but failed.

For a testing, I use gmail as SMTP server, settings are
SMTP server: smtp.googlemail.com
SSL
port : 465

any ideas ? Thanks

The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2011-10-30T15:20:47). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (The operation has timed out.).

have you set up profile correctly.?
