I am trying to build a clock in and clock out table where I only want the time of the clock in and only the time of the clock out for two of the fields. What data type should I use for this?thank you.

There is a time datatype but I would probably go for a datetime and include the date as well.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.SSIS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy.

i would have gone with datetime itself so that it will have day context as well. Always i can write logic to get onlt time part from it when needed too.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/
