| Hi guys,I tried to bulk insert a text file to a table. The text file uses "|" as delimiter. All columns are username|age|score ... The table has one column more than the text file, looks like this: username age score eventid. Here eventid is int and I need to update it after the insertion. Is there any way to insert the text file with the column eventid not affected? Thanks in advance. |

| You can use a format file but much easier to create a view on the table omitting the column and import into that.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.SSIS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
