 how to drop user

i tried to drop a login user from a database. it gives me a error (cannot drop the user, because it does not exist or you do not have permission)

the credential you're using to connect to db doesnot have drop login permission which is why it gives above error. Ask your admin to give you this permission using GRANT statement if you want to do this.

for droping a login requires ALTER ANY LOGIN permission on the server
and you can check your permission by below query
USE DBname;
SELECT *
FROM fn_my_permissions(NULL, 'SERVER');
GO
