I installed default instance MS SQL server 2000 on windows xp in a local network and set to sql server authentication. i can connect to default instance from other stations normally and there is not any problem.
but when install a new instance on the same system with the same configuration i can not connect to it from other stations in the network.
how can i solve this problem?

you need to refer that instance as machinename\instancename as against simple machinename which will refer to default instance
