Adhoc reports are reports used in daily operation, and provide information on a specific field, like daily reports about sales, attendance, revenue and so on. it is very simple reports, you may generate it using excel, SSRS.usually you don't need to use MDX, but may use SQL.I hope this is helpful.http://elmozamil.blogspot.comThere is no thing is impossible if you try harder! |

Adhoc reports give you maximum flexibility. You will have entities/measures you can use for reporting and you will be building reports at runtime based on one or more entities/measures based on your need. You're free to use any of entity measure combinations from available list based on your need.In SQL reporting services, ad hoc reports are built by creating a report model and deploying in the server. the report model will have entities/measures available for users from which they can choose what they want to report on and what all measures they need to analyse. The report model will be deployed to SSRS server and users will make use of an application caled Report Builder available from Report Manager to select a report model and use entities within it to build a report as per their need.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/ |
