I'm confused. Is it failing to start or just won't start automatically? Please provide more detail.

Sorry for the late reply Kizer,

The application team called up and were asking that they were facing an issue with the server as they are not able to connect, as soon as i got the information i logged into the box and saw that in the services.msc I found that the sql services were in staring mode only i tried to stop but was failed to do, i rebooted the server but still the same it shows in the services in starting mode so i disabled the sql services and sql agent and rebooted then after getting back i changed it to manual and started the services then it cam up, but i couldn’t find what was the reason behind the services behaving like that.

when i tried to connect to one single database i got this error message..
'c:\program%20files\microsoft%20sql%20server/80/tools/binn/resources\1033/sqlmmc.rll/tabs.html'
please let me know if i need to upgrade any thing in the server.

Look in Event Viewer for the cause.
