Currently managing 400+ instances of SQL Server.
Provisioning patches is painfully time consuming.

Looking to hear what others are doing in the industry regarding Multi Node clusters.

A lot of people are using Powershell for administering Windows and SQL Server. Dig around Google for "Powershell" and you'll get some good background. Patching/upgrading clusters would use the same techniques as standalone servers.

I just stumbled across this today: http://puppetlabs.com/

I haven't used it myself but someone I know speaks very highly of it.
