Hello All,Our production environment is Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 edition with /Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4035.00 (X64),Standard Edition (64-bit) Active/Passive Cluster(2-node cluster)Our plan is to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard edition x64 Active/Passive Cluster(2-node cluster) with out touching the Operating system at this timemy plan is to an inplace upgrade because of limited resources.I do have 3 instances on this cluster.Question: 1.Is it possible to do an inplace upgrade with the above set up?2.will there be any issue doing this with out upgrading the operating system to Windows 2008?3.To minimize the down time, i would like to do this 1 instance at a time, like every other weekend?Since this is my first upgrade ever, i am little overwhelmedThank you for your help,Buzzi |
