| Use the minimum sizes required for the data type of each column. For example, if a column would always be 10 characters long, use CHAR(10). Or if you are interested only in dates in 1900 through 2078, use smalldatetime instead of datetime.So, for each of the columns, look up the various data types you could use and pick the one that would use the least amount of storage while satisfying the business requirement. |
