So I came in today and determined that my backups are HUGE. At this point we take a Full backup once a week and DIFFs daily. I use litespeed to do this. As of now my full is approx 96gb and my diff is also about 95gb. Lots of changes in the DB is creating this huge diff backup so my question is this.
If I do a full backup today, rather than waiting for Saturdays scheduled backup, will a smaller diff be created on the next scheduled DIFF backup execution?

The diff backup will contain all the changes since your last full backup so the longer after your full backup the diff occurs, the larger the backup file will be.

The number of log records in the ldf file affects the size of diff backups. Are you doing index rebuilds or reorganize? This is also the one another reason of huge diff backup.
