Hello,

How can we connect remotely to SQL server 2005 which resides in a machine that is in WTS.

How i connect manually :-
-mstsc.exe to server A
-from server A, i will mstsc.exe to server B and open up the sql server there.

question, how can i connect directly from my own management studio. what should i put in the server name : A\B\sql01 ??? is not working.
Please help. Thanks

What is WTS ?

Where is your local machine ? and where is Server B residing ?

From what you describe, it seems like Server B is behind some sort of firewall. And if this is the case, most probably you will not be able to direct access to the SQL Server. Unless the TCP port is exposed. The best bet is to ask for a VPN access to the Server B directly. Then you can access to SQL Server from your machine.

Hi KH.

They call it WTS(windows trerminal service) but it looks like a normal server 2003.yeah, it's behind firewall that's the reason we can only access from the WTS.
so there's no way to direct connect.
but what dya mean by TCP port
