| Hi.can we actually connect to sql server 2008 R2 remotely from sql server 2008??i had below error to do that even the remote connection is set to allow.TITLE: Connect to Server------------------------------Cannot connect to xxxxx.------------------------------ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Please check wether the remote system is set to accept remote connection. |

| yes, the setting in connection tab for server properties is tick for "Allow remote connections to this server.can sql 2008 connect to sql R2 actually? they are same version (sort off)?~~~who controls the past controls the future, who controls the present controls the past. ¯\(º_o)/¯ ~~~ |
