| Hi,I'm not sure if this is the right place to post the following. I recently needed to run a VB6 program which was written for MS SQL Server 2000. I installed vb6 & ms sql server express 2005 and the vb code. The mdf from the old SQL Server was successfully loaded on the Express version. On running the program I get a message that Microsoft SQLDMO could not be found. I checked up the references and found that it referred to a path different from that on which the SQLDMO exists in the system. I'm unable to redirect the reference to the correct path. I don't have the old MS SQL server version. How do I proceed to get the vb code to work? I've tried Win XP and Windows 7. I also downloaded SQLDMO (rll and dll) and placed them in system32/Resources/1033 folder, application folder. No use.Is this a problem with MS SQL Server or VB or SQLDMO version? Sorry for being naive. How do I resolve this? Thanks in advance. |

| Thanks robvolk. However, I solved this problem absolutely accidentally! Though I had downloaded the SQLDMO.dll (or so I thought), on trying to register it I found the extension to be .sql . Hence, I went back, ran the VB6 program and without realising it, referenced the .rll file. Immediately, the Missing state changed in the reference list and the code ran well. However, I'm unable to save this change permanently to the same project. 'Save as' to a new project also does not seem to save the changed reference. I need to add the reference each time I run the vb code. Thanks anyway. This thread can be closed. |
