I have run the following command on a database of users, to change the domain part of their email address:

update users;
set email=replace (email, 'domaina.com' 'domainb.com')
select * from users;

and it runs fine, but it does not diaplay the records (i.e. does not run the last line - "select * from users")

What am I missing?

Depends on your client. Could be running it but not presenting the result - or could not be running it - or displaying the result somewhere you don't expect (maybe hidden).

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.

You're right, it was displaying the results in another tab, thanks.
