I want to create a DRS that contains a 'near-live' environment, and we have a database that we would need to be replicated to this site as close to 'real-time' as the production server. Yes this secondary site would be a read only database until required. We currently have a 1hr dump/load but I'd like to be even closer to the production environment. I've read a bit on transactional replication. I feel like I don't see much TR or hear of it (I haven't' been exposed to SQL as much I would like). Is this a viable solution for replication? I don't really know what the best practice is when trying to duplicate a db to as close as production environment as possible to ensure a quick transaction should something occur. All thoughts are definitely appreciated. Thanks!Steve |
